The Hoss Garden Seeder allows you to easily plant your vegetable garden with accuracy and precision. Our innovative seed plate design allows you to easily customize seed plates to fit the variety of seed you're planting. Seed plates lie flat in the hopper and can be easily changed without wasting excess seed.
The Hoss Garden Seeder has a rolling coulter or rolling disk that opens a furrow for the dropping seed. This double disk furrow opener works great in soils that have heavy organic residue from prior vegetable or cover crops. Once the seed drops into the planting furrow, the drag chain covers the seed and the rear wheel packs the soil to ensure optimal germination.
The Hoss Garden Seeder is constructed with Amish-crafted hardwood handles, 15″ steel wheels, and a powder-coated steel frame. The handles are adjustable to the users height. The steel frame ensures the unit is stable and easy to push in a straight line along the row.

Develop a plastic box that can attach to the wooden handles that can store all seed plates, hopper and other parts. Have everything together instead of trying to remember where everything is.

I used this seeder the first time in 2022. My garden is about 50’x70’ I grow large to small seed vegetables. Easy to use and understand. Instructions are easy to understand also. Seed plates are easily modified for seed size and planting rate. Works best in well worked soil without many obstructions. The biggest problem was cornstalks from the previous year. I would change two things. First, I would put numbers on the depth plate. Two I would make it plant deeper. I could only get sweet corn to plant a little over an inch deep. Not deep enough in my opinion. As a row crop farmer, my only other wish would be the ability to alternate the plate speed. perhaps 1.5 times faster. It’s far from necessary though. Don’t waste your time and money on Hoss’s competitor’s plastic planter. The one you can find in almost any farm, hardware, or major chain store. Worthless headache. I had one of those first. The Hoss seeder costs more yes but, there is no comparison for performance out of the box. I’m leaving a four star just because of the planting depth I achieved for corn. I would rate it five overall for quality, durability, and ease of use. I would definitely buy again but, it’s built so well I’m sure it will outlast me.
I bought this early in 2022. We are getting older and it is hard on a body to do all of the bending to plant a garden by hand. I used it to plant the garden last spring. It worked good. The drive wheel needs some tread on it to make it not slide on loose soil. I may have my son weld some 1/8" straps on the rear wheel to keep it from sliding. My wife and son could not make it plant when they tried to plant a fall garden. I don't know what kind of problem they had with it. Hopefully it works this spring. I still need to put some BLO on the handles before they get dirty or stained. The extra seed plates come in handy if you plant a variety of seeds. If I need more blank plates, I will just print them on the 3D printer.
